PhD in Mathematics, speciality of Operations Research (NOVA University of Lisbon, 2005). The main research areas are: combinatorial optimization, mixed integer linear programming, clustering with global objectives, K clusters with fixed cardinality, flexible manufacturing systems, project scheduling with flexible resources, lot sizing, genetic heuristics.
