The social program includes the conference dinner and a trip in Lisboa. The cost of the social program is covered by the Conference Fee.

Conference Dinner

On Wednesday, July 13, we will meet at the lobby of the Hotel Costa da Caparica  at 18h, where we will board a bus towards Azeitão, near Setúbal, to visit the José Maria da Fonseca cellars and have a Welcome Drink. Owned and managed by the same family for over 200 years, this company produces the best wines of the Setúbal region.

The Conference Dinner will take place at 20h30 in the "Teares Novos" cellars, nearby the José Maria da Fonseca Manor House, that holds about 400 thousand litres of the well-know Periquita wine.

Trip to Lisboa

On Thursday, July 14, we will meet at FCT-UNL at 14h, where a bus will be waiting to take us to Belém. We will have a guided tour of Mosteiro dos Jerónimos (Jerónimos Monastery) followed by free time. The bus will bring the participants back to FCT-UNL and hotel Costa da Caparica at around 18h30.

Belém is linked to Portugal’s Golden Age of Discoveries as the site where the famous navigators set sail to discover the world. Today it is a spacious green suburb with many gardens, parks and monuments that are well worth a visit. Amongst Belém’s attractions are Mosteiro dos Jerónimos (Jerónimos Monastery), Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument to the Discoveries), Torre de Belém, Belém Cultural Centre and the famous pastries shop Pastéis de Belém.
