Vanessa Antunes is integrated researcher of LIBPhys-UNL, Laboratório de Instrumentação, Engenharia Biomédica e Física da Radiação, Departamento de Física, Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa and ARTIS-Instituto de História da Arte da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa. Nowadays develops a post-doctoral research under the theme "Preparing the image - transcontextuality of the preparatory material in golden age of Portuguese painting". Between 2006-2014 attended a PhD in Art, Heritage and Restoration in Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa with the dissertation project under the title: "Techniques and preparation materials of portuguese painting from the 15th and 16th centuries"with a scholarship of Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT).Has a 5 year Degree in painting C& R of Instituto Politécnico de Tomar, completed in 2002. Researcher in FCT projects such as "The invisible ground layer and its influence in portuguese paintings of the 15th and 16th centuries: a question to be settled", "PRIM'ART-Portugal Rediscovering Mural ART:Historical and Scientific study of Évora Archepiscopate ( 1516-1615)” and “De artibus in Auream Goa”, financed by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.
