Jan Staman

Jan Staman was appointed to head the Rathenau Institute in 2002. As its director, he is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day work of the institute.

Jan studied veterinary medicine and (Dutch) law. After graduation, he spent eight years on the research staff of Utrecht University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Department of Domestic Animals) before going on to hold various appointments at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality in The Hague.
