PRE-CONFERENCE LECTURE COURSE

3D Printed Chromatographic Columns: Conventional or Non-Conventional Chromatography?

In this pre-conference lecture course we will discuss how advances in Additive Manufacturing (AM, aka 3D Printing) are impacting in the separation sciences and downstream processing worlds. The participants will be offered an overview of the entire 3D printing pipeline, from CAD design to post printing processes. We will then focus on the various AM techniques currently available, and discuss their specific advantages and drawbacks for creating chromatographic columns. Finally, we will cover present applications of 3D printing in the separation sciences, highlighting current challenges as well as future opportunities.

Lecturer: Prof. Simone Dimartino
