           Non-clinical efficacy

The development of new drugs is a time-consuming process that requires the input from several diferent areas.

In this communication, the skills and competences of the Laboratory of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto in the assessment of non-clinical efficacy will be presented.

The most relevant areas of research addressed will be inflammation, cancer, diabetes and neuroprotection. The techniques available and models used will be presented and discussed.
