It is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the Seminar “Precast Concrete Towers for Wind Energy Generators” which will be held in the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa,, Caparica, Portugal on 6 of March, 2012.
The windpower market has evolved and grown dramatically around the world. This, combined with the equipment evolution, has created new challenges to structural engineering both for onshore and offshore facilities.
The seminar deals with wind power energy and more specifically the design and building of precast towers to support the wind turbines. It is intended to give a state of the art update on this technology.
PrecastWind 2012 will feature several national and foreign experts. Among others, these specialists will be present: Daniel Alexander Kuchma from University of Illinois (EUA), Frans J. Brughuis from MECAL BV (Holanda), Roger Becker from PCI - Precast/prestressed Concrete Institute, (EUA), Ana Estanqueiro (to be confirmed) from Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia e Geologia (Portugal), Carlos Chastre Rodrigues and Válter Lúcio from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia of Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (Portugal).
The working language of the conference is English.
The seminar will be held at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Campus da Caparica, on 6th July 2012, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.. There will be a coffee break.
