Eurico Cabrita obtained his PhD in Organic Chemistry in 1999 from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, under the supervision of Prof. Carlos Afonso and A. Gil Santos. After a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Lab of Prof. Stefan Berger, Leipzig (Germany) he returned back to Portugal as an Assistant Researcher at the Associate Laboratory REQUIMTE, FCT-UNL. In 2004 he was appointed as a Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department of Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia.

He is very well-known in the Portuguese NMR community having presented and organising many courses and conferences he is the main driving force of the Portuguese NMR Network and though the current coordinator. In 2010, Dr. Cabrita has been distinguished by the Portuguese Chemical Society with the Vicente de Seabra Medal for significant contribution to chemistry in Portugal.

During the workshop we will cover basic concepts of theoretical NMR and he aims that participants  should leave with a basic understanding and ability to use NMR and RDCs to solve their research goals.
