Interesses Científicos

The field of research is the development of accurate, less time consuming, more efficient and reliable analytical methods, based on gas chromatography (GC), gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (quadrupole) GC/qMS, gas chromatography/time of flight mass spectrometry (GC/TOFMS), comprehensive gas chromatography (GCxGC/TOFMS), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with refractive index, UV and diode array detection, identification and quantitation of organic compounds in complex matrices specially volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Several sample preparation methodologies are used such as liquid-liquid extraction (LLE), solid phase extraction (SPE) and solid phase micro-extraction (SPME). Special interest is devoted to analyse enantiomers by enantioselective GC (eGC) and eGCxGC/TOFMS. Synthesis and coating of new chiral stationary phases based on ionic liquids (ILs) for GC is now beeing developped.
