Conference Venue

The conference will be held in the Congress Center of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation located in the heart of Lisbon, Portugal from 30 to 31 January 2012. During this month Lisbon offers a pleasant winter  with temperatures 8-14 ºC . The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, founded in 1956, is a private institute dedicated to education, the sciences, arts and philanthropy.
The Calouste Gulbenkian Art Museum, which houses the world-class private art collection of Calouste Gulbenkian, is located on the conference site. The center of the old town can be reached from Calouste Gulbenkian through public transportation (bus or metro) or even walking.
Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and lies on the bank of the Tagus Estuary, on the European Atlantic coast. It is served by an international airport located approximately 15 minutes from the conference site. Lisbon is a picturesque city with a large historical center. It is also within a short distance to beaches and lovely historical towns such as Sintra and Évora.
