Optimization 2011 will accommodate a special session celebrating the 60th anniversary of our dear colleague Joaquim João Júdice (Univ. Coimbra), the founder of the Optimization conference series and a well-known researcher in Optimization who had a profound impact on the development of the field in Portugal.

The session will take place in Hotel Mélia Capuchos, Caparica, on Sunday, July 24, 2011, from 17:30-19:30, and will be followed by a dinner at 20:00.
