“The recertification issued to Adelphe in December 2010 set ambitious objectives for prevention, the recycling rate, and the cost coverage rate of recycling.

We were also asked to address three requirements, namely to be more realistic on costs, to guarantee an equal standing among all contributors and all packaging materials, and to encourage practices that limit the environmental impact of packaging by strengthening the eco-modulation criteria.

It therefore became necessary to change how the Green Dot is calculated for businesses in order to meet these requirements. We therefore developed a bonus/penalty system that encourages businesses to adopt best practices for recycling and for designing earth-friendly packaging.”
